57 days to go: Bank Holiday Sunshine

It's Bank Holiday Monday and the sun is shining.
We spent the day tidying the garden while the children played.
My parents came over for something to eat.
Unfortunately the sun gave way to light showers so our barbecue was moved inside.
But after we finished eating the weather seemed to stabilise and we moved outside and burned some wood on our barbecue to keep warm.

I wore...
Shoes - Clarks
Jeans - Tesco
Top - Zara
Cardigan - Primark
Necklace - Matalan

72 days to go: Dreaming of Summer

I last wore this top here on August 26th 2008 - the final day of our Spanish holiday.
It has gone through a few changes since I bought it from Zara in 2003.
Originally it had straps but then I chopped them off for a strapless look.
I tend to only wear it now on holidays.
It is a very versatile number as the elasticated top section means I can wear it as a skirt/beach cover-up too.
Today I just wanted to wear it because I found this necklace for £1.00 in Primark and the colours just reminded me of the top.
Which reminded me of summer.
Which reminded me of sunshine.
Which reminded me that there are just three months to go (today) until we fly back to Barcelona.

I wore
trainers - Nike
Jeans - Gap
Top - Zara
Necklace and Cardigan - Primark

157 days to go: Spring

A very busy Friday with the children off school.
I woke early to get a few hours work done then went for a run with my daughter and the dog.
There was a real feel of spring in the air.
Later, I had my hair cut and then went to visit my friend Joy who gave me a lovely early birthday present.
I am just getting ready to go to the surprise 40th birthday party at one of our local pubs.
I'll post what I will be wearing tomorrow.

Today I wore:
Gap Jeans
Clark's Shoes
Primark t-shirt
Zara top
Hair by Tania

170 and 169 days to go: Dressing with the Audacity of Hope

I am keeping it uber laid back this weekend as I prepare to meet Cat's Michelle Obama Wardrobe Challenge.
In fact I got so excited about surfing through the web images that I decided to give myself a Michelle Obama Wardrobe Challenge Week.
After last week when I spent most of my days in jeans now it is time to smarten up my act.
I have five outfits planned for each day of the week and it will be a busy one.
Monday: Working from home for my PR clients.
Tuesday & Wednesday: Working in the prison, teaching and helping with the prison magazine.
Thursday: More PR work followed by Parent's Evening for my 13-year-old son.
Friday: Back in the prison for an approval meeting with the funders of our prison magazine.

This weekend I wore:

Ugg Boots
Gap Curvy Jeans

Red Zara Top
Blue Matalan Cardigan

Black long sleeve T-shirt - Dorothy Perkins
Pink zip sweatshirt - USA Pro

Day 13: All wrapped up.

The weather is better. Sport's Day finally took place this morning. It was abandoned last year due to rain. Abandoned the year before because it was too hot! My daughter came first in the skipping race which was cool as it was her final Sport's Day at primary school.
I won't show you what I wore to that as I dashed out after writing a feature and walking the dog.
This afternoon I am leading a PR workshop for small business owners. I need to look grown-up so I dug out another DVF dress that has been hiding in the wardrobe because I don't really know how to wear it.
The dress is reversible and so you would think versatile but the tie belt and the double layers make me look like a sack of spuds around the middle.
I have been following the style advice of Kasmira on her blog ( http://whatiwore2day.blogspot.com/) which details how to wear a wrap dress.

I tried my best in the 5 minutes I had.

Dress (DVF, 2005)
Green Camisole M&S (2007)
Pink Cardigan, Zara (2007)
Neutral shoe (Dunce, 2005)
Nude fishnet tights
Green ring (Debenhams, 2008)
Silver Bangle (Christmas present from my husband, 2005)
Necklace (Christmas present form my husband, 2007)
Belt, off a M&S Dress (2007)
