38 - 42 days to go:Bouncing Back

I am feeling better.
Yesterday I was bouncing back - on the trampoline.
It has been a harrowing week but the school have finally acknowledged my request for help and my daughter has the mentor I have been asking for since she was attacked by another girl in February.
But not before everything I said was going to happen, happened.
From Monday she has a new start.
A new class, a new house and a new teaching set.
She has also been chosen to be a Peer Mentor for next year.
This role provides a support system for new pupils starting the school next year who may be having a tough time.
Maybe going through tough times is worthwhile if it helps others.
I am not a great fan of Posh Spice but I remember her being interviewed after the scandal of David Beckham's affair.
She told the interviewer:
"What doesn't kill us makes us stronger."
Hear Hear.
Although I haven't been posting I have been snapping so here's a round-up of my outfits this week.
All items are remixed.
Thanks again for all your messages of support - they helped.
So much.
Have a great weekend.

I'm glad the educators took this seriously and hopefully, your daughter will bounce back better than ever. Regrettably, so many kids have these harrowing incidences but when you have guardians/parents that stick up for the kids; things really begin to pick up and change for the child affected.

BTW, fabulous pictures...I especially love the last one with the white vest. Wonderful!

I'm glad your daughter was able to get the support she needs. Thank goodness she has you as an advocate. I can tell you, I was bullied in middle school and, although I switched schools, came out okay (or so I like to believe) in the end. I'm thinking of ya.

Why does high school have to be so hard? Why can't the students just bond together with the attitude of getting thru school together, instead of getting personally nasty to each other? It happened to my oldest son.

First it was so hard for him to even admit how hard he was having it. We moved him to a different school. His grades improved, he spirit improved. He's more outgoing. A new group of friends. Junior year was fun. And Graduation year will be something to look forward to now. Not as an escape but as an enjoyable life passage.

I feel for your daughter and now hope all she needs to worry about is what to wear and did I study enough last night :)

Hi, Jane. I just got back from a trip to Canada and have been playing blog catch-up. I'm sorry to hear about what a rough week you had while I was gone, but glad to hear that things are looking up - especially that things at school should start to get better for your daughter.

I went through a scary time in junior high when I was bullied by some fellow students. It was awful. I was scared to walk home by myself, and friends were scared to walk home with me. They never followed through on their threats to "jump" me, and things got better eventually, but those emotional wounds took a long time to heal. I can only imagine how rough this has been for your young lady. Let her know that us strangers out in blog land feel for her, will you?

Posh's quote is actually by the philosopher Fredrich Nietzsche: "That which does not kill us makes us stronger."

That is awesome about your daughter, Jane - I'm so glad she was able to get the help she needed, and that she is going to take part in mentoring herself next year.

You look lovely all week (I like the red outfit best).

Welcome back and here's to a smoother road ahead for your daughter. Hopefully her role as Peer Mentor will be enjoyable for her too.

I also love the quote which can apply equally well to teenage girls: "A woman is like a teabag; you can't tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water".
There seems some internet debate as to whether Nancy Reagan or Eleanor Roosevelt came up with that, but I think you get the idea!
