Things aren't going too well for me at the moment. At times like these I would normally head to the shops. But I can't. Maybe its time to face up to my problems at long last.
Aw...I hope things get better soon. Retail therapy doesn't really work (at least, not for very long). Do something physical: a walk, punch something (like a pillow), dance your butt off!
Sorry to hear that you're having a rough go of it. I tend to do the whole "retail therapy" thing, too. But, really, your willpower is so inspiring. Hang in there -- sending hugs your way!
I was feeling so low when I posted but when I saw the warm, kind thoughts coming from near and far I realised I wasn't as alone as I felt. Your watm thoughts are so gratefully received. I will bounce back.
I've done this kind of thing once when I was truely broke - but I still would have been perusing the shops to find what $5 and under bargains that I could snap up - you amaze me!
I'm sorry you were feeling so low...maybe tis the season? I think that whatever icky things can go on in our lives always seem amplified up a notch during the holidays -- we have the expectation that we'll be merry and are extra disappointed when for very good reasons we may not be.
But whether or not the holidays play a role, I hope by now you are cheered up. If not, here come some more hugs, just in case:
Jane, I hope you are better by now; I have an idea for you. What if you got out your urge for retail therapy by helping a friend "Work Her Wardrobe?" I think you could start for free, then eventually charge. You'd be playing with other people's clothing, helping them save time and money! Part of your service could be photographing the outfits you make out of a capsule wardrobe.
Three of my friends have asked me to do this for them; I start next week. I really think it should help satisfy that desire to shop!

Sorry to hear you're feeling down. Life stinks sometimes doesn't it? Take care.
I hope things look up soon, whatever they are. It's a tough time of year sometimes, makes everything seem worse.
