89 days to go: Capsule Wardrobes

Did anyone in the UK see Gok Wan's Channel 4 show last night.
If you missed it overseas then you can watch it again on Channel 4's catch-up player.
He has a new slot in the series looking at capsule wardrobes.
My life has been one, long desperate search for an effortless, streamlined wardrobe.
However, as you can see from these posts - I am still on the journey.
And I do not travel it alone. When I look back at my blog's keyword analysis it is always the phrase "Capsule Wardrobe" that outnumbers the rest of the words by 6 to 1.

But back to today - inspired by Kasmira - the queen of dailywear posting posing - I have been experimenting.
What do you think?

I wore:
Jeans - Joe Brown
Shoes - Clarks
Top and sunglasses - Tesco
Jacket - French Connection (over-dyed)

231 days to go: Capsule Wardrobe Challenge, day 1

Before I begin let me announce one final amendment. I have changed my blue navy jacket to a long black coat.
And the belts has gone in favour of a thick brown scarf.
It was 7 below zero when I got in the car today with forecasts of much the same so I have decided to go for as much coverage as possible.
I call this my Scottish Widows Coat after the woman in the advert wore a similar coat.
I bought this in the December sales in 1995. It was half price and cost £140.00 - most definitely an investment piece.
Back to today. I spent all morning writing reports, planning workshops and typing up work before I went to the gym and then collected the children.

Stop Press! Goober and Kristen (Shallow Coffee) have joined us!
See their blogs on my blog list.

I wore...

Red Shoes - eBay
Black Tights - Tesco
Skirt - Matalan
Red Top - Primark
Black Vest - Oasis
Scarf, worn as a bow - Marks and Spencer
Coat - Four Seasons
Bag - Sainsbury's

Join my Capsule Wardobe Challenge

Some of my long term blogging friends may recall that back in July I set myself a theoretical capsule wardrobe challenge.
I had to take 10 items including shoes, clothes and accessories to create five outfits to wear for a working week.
I didn't actually wear them but mocked them up for the blog.
This time I am doing it for real with a few changes.
As the weather in the UK is so much cooler I will not include coats, underwear, hosiery and accessories.
However, the five outfits for Monday to Friday must centre around 10 items and that includes shoes and boots.
I will be setting myself this challenge to begin Monday December 1st when my NaNoWriMo challenge has finished.
Anyone care to join me?

Capsule Wardrobe Challenge

Calling all you creative fashionistas. If you could choose only ten items to see you through a working week, what ten items would you choose. This includes everything including accessories but not underwear!
