318 days to go: A girl in a man's world - for the price of an iPod!

I loved Karen's idea about wearing a man's shirt.
After viewing her post a while back, I filed it in the back of my mind under "someday."
And that someday happened today or rather last night when I was preparing for my prison job.
I had said that working in a man's prison can be tricky so when I spotted this shirt "stuffed" in the corner of my 16-year-old son's wardrobe I grabbed it.
However, he caught me.
There followed a series of negotiations.

"Can I wear this shirt?
"Why?
"I like it.
"It won't fit you.
"It will
"Can I borrow your iPod for the day.
"OK then
"OK then."

Deal done.

I felt very comfortable in the prison today. And I heard two of my guys had won top prizes in the national prison arts awards.

I wore:
Grey and black shoes: New Look
High-waisted jeans: Tesco
Sam's shirt: Burton
Pink Cami: Zara
Silver Bangle: Asos
Pink Necklace: Debenhams
Pink Ear-rings: Tesco
Coat (with fantastic lining): Boden

Love the coat. I buy very, very rarely from Boden but I would love one of the their coats. That one looks great, is it cord?

You look both comfortable and fashionable! And, I love the bits of pink (and the pink coat).

Notsupermum - the coat isn't cord, it's like a heavy brushed cotton.
Thanks Stacy, I was v comfortable today.

What a great look. I am so happy to see high waisted jeans. And the coat? Yes, please.

This looks fantastic! I love the way you prettied up the man's shirt by adding the pink.

Great outfit! I think that it's truly amazing that you work in a prison. I had an offer to do something similar a number of years ago, but I just couldn't bring myself to go to the interview. I don't think it was for me, but I admire anyone who is willing to potentially go out of their comfort zone & make a difference in someone's life.

Great outfit! I love the menswear look, the high-waisted pants - and those shoes are fantastic!

You should keep the shirt. :-P
