321 days to go: Fulsome (!) Prison Blues
Tuesday
7am
Back to the prison where I work as a writer in residence two days a week.
Dressing for prison always gives me the blues as it's a dilemma for obvious reasons.
I usually wear trousers and while I like to feel good I don't want to look in any way at all provocative.
My staple prison wardrobe in recent times has been jeans and a fitted top. I don't wear a belt as I have to wear a thick black belt which carries my keys and whistle!!!
I decided that I will try and go for colour combinations to keep me interested.
I loved Sheila's post about brown and turquoise and had a dyeing frenzy. I dyed lots of off white camisoles and tops turquoise. I am quite pleased with the results.
6pm
Back in for a quick bite to eat before watching my eight-year-old play a game of football so swapped the shoes for blue boots (Aldi).
I wore..
Jeans...Gap
Turquoise Camisole (dyed) ... Dorothy Perkins
Fawn Top...Gap
Shoes..Clark's (again, I know!)
Pendant and bangle..Free with Spanish Instyle
PS Don't you just love this long lightweight cardigan I saw modelled by a mannequin at my local M&S store?

Your outfit looks great! I love the turquoise tank. It's a nice shot of color.
Yes, the cardigan is very nice. Now step away from the manneqin. You only have 321 days to go before you can buy it. :-)
Love this look. Do you think you are going to go haywire at the end of this? Like have a meltdown and just scoop up everything and say "Yes, please. I'll take it ALL."
I love that outfit! I think it looks great on you. I'm really impressed that you were able to successfully dye some items. I've never had luck when I try and dye something a different color. It always ends up looking weird! :)
Thanks for keeping me on the straight and narrow!
KT - I am planning to save a quarter of what I used to spend on clothes. When the experiment is finished I hope I will have an investment wish-list of things I really could have done with rather than things I just like and grab.
I will make it a rule that I have to have a week cooling-off period before I buy. Having said that there are some clothes I wish I had doubled up when I bought - such as my Gap Curvy jeans and my Clark's shoes (they had different colours).
I think that cardigan could have been an investment buy for autumn. I have two long cardigans but they are both quite bulky. I love the drapeyness of this one.
The turquoise cami is the perfect accent. I really like this outfit.
