181 days to go: Happy Birthday Mum

It was my mum's 66th birthday and we celebrated it with a meal at my parent's favourite Italian restaurant.
It was a double birthday celebration as my dad was home from hospital in time to join us all.
For Christmas I had bought my mum a selection of lovely scarves and a book with lots of ideas on how to wear them.
Here she is with her favourite blue and pink scarf by Oscar de la Renta.

I wore: Green Dress by Next (bought in the sale 2007)
Boots - Faith.

Jane - am I seeing thingd or have you got something round your neck in the first photos? What is it?

You look great as ever - hope your Mum had a great evening. Glad to know your Dad is better.

You both look lovely. Glad your Dad is home. What an inspired gift you put together for your Mom. I may have to borrow that idea.

You look so much like your mum - both lovely. Happy birthday to her, and welcome home to your dad. Great news.

Thank you everyone for your kind comments.
Imogen I did have a scarf round my neck - just to keep warm under my coat!

What a great dress! I love the way that silhouette hangs on you as well as the button detail at the bust. Is that a self belt, or did you add it? The boots and scarf pull the colors together nicely. The colors of this ensemble complement your complexion.

I would love to see you feature methods of tying scarves. I always struggle with how to wear long, thin, rectangular, silk scarves.

Love that dress! Honestly, if I was independently wealthy, I think I would buy all my clothing at NEXT and just have it shipped over here. You can almost never go wrong with a purchase there. :)

Happy Birthday to your Mom!

Hi Jane, Greetings from Dublin, Ireland! I am one of those annoying people who visit blogs but never leave comments. However, because I'm such a fan of your blog and because you look really, really gorgeous in that dress I feel obliged to drop a line. I'm in a similar situation myself - too many clothes and books AND addicted to shopping. I would love to follow in your footsteps but am not sure I would last a month, let alone a year. It is possible we might be moving cities in the near future, so look to you for inspiration and courage! Thanks!
