Christmas Gifts

Darla asked to see my new coat so here it is.
I think it is also time to declare my Christmas clothing gifts.
I know a few relatives have felt sorry for me and gave me gift vouchers on the understanding I MUST spend them.
It was harder than I thought as I felt uncomfortable about breaking the spending ban although money did not change hands.
So here's the list:
Coat (as pictured) (Marks and Spencer)
Tan leather boots (also pictured - marked down from £50 to £25)
Black leather boots (Dorothy Perkins marked down from £50 to £35)
Grey dress (Dorothy Perkins) and Black dress (New Look)to be revealed.

That is the PERFECT coat -- and I especially love the belt. What a great piece, you'll get tons of use out of it for years & years :)

Wow, what a lovely coat! Looking forward to seeing the rest of your gifts.

Don't feel bad about spending gift cards - I don't think they violate your year-long vow (congrats on less than 200 days to go, btw). If someone had bought you a coat and you had to exchange it for another one, it would be the same result.

As mentioned before, you are a real inspiration: I've started my own Fashion Resolution this year.

Nice coat! I can't wait to see the rest of your new things. Don't worry about the fact you bought them with a gift card - just imagine the items were bought by the people who gave you the cards - that still makes them gifts, and gifts are allowed!

Jane - you look great in that coat, what a lovely shape.
About the gift cards - it's good research for the chapter of your book entitled: "what is and isn't allowed" - I hope you are collecting all this research ready for compiling the book. We are all eager for it. Of course after the first book 'A year with no clothes', there can be a follow up book 'Organising your wardrobe with no clothes' and then, of course there is 'A year with no clothes Journal' and 'A year with no clothes - The Workbook'. WOW! Get that proposal off in the post today.

Love the coat! And the boots! And gift vouchers totally don't count - it was someone else's money spent on your behalf.

That is a wonderful coat. I like the details - big buttons and belt.
Thanks for posting the pic.
