172 days to go: Third Time Lucky

I think I may have got it right with the help of all your advice and tips.
Darla suggested it may be the neckline while Imogen pointed out the way it made me look top heavy.
Before I snip the ties I thought I would just tuck them into the neck and belt it with the jeans.
For those who are concerned it may be a little smelly by now - I did wash it and leave it to drip dry overnight. The other great thing about this blouse is that it doesn't need an iron!

Boots - Dorothy Perkins
Jeans - Gap Curvy
Blouse and Belt - Asos

Love the blouse worn like this! I liked the idea with the waistcoat, but I think a flatter top would have worked better, or this blouse worn like this would be fine.

I think the blouse looks great like this. I love blouses with ties, but maybe one with such a nice pattern doesn't need the extra detail, so removing the tie is probably the way to go. Maybe you could make some sort of accessory from the ties if you remove them?

You look great, though!

Perfection! Definitely remove the tie part, so much more flattering on you. And I love the belt!

You're right, third try's a charm! I love the purple obi belt over the blouse. Have you tried this obi belt with your "pimp my dress" ensemble? I think it would look great over the dress with a chunky necklace.

I like this look better than the other two, although I thought the grey dress/blouse combo looked nice albeit a bit old for you.

Yep, that look is beyond perfect!

Very nice, Jane. Maybe it wasn't the blouse but the waistcoat, then! Perfect with the grey dress too. Ciao. Antonella

I love that you didn't give up on this blouse -- and that you shared the journey with us. Aren't some prints just hard to dress with?

But this way you are wearing it IS totally fab! I love this look -- so sexy and sophisticated yet in a casual way. This color looks great on you as always, too :)

SO YES! Definitely get rid of the pussy bow I think. The obi belt is great on you too (so wish I could wear one!).

Stunning Jane.

One of the things I admire about you Jane is your willingness to take our ideas and transform your look.

Plus you don't give up - just because a garment might not work one way for you, doesn't mean there is no way you can wear it - many should take a leaf out of your book!
