Well done - I'm still struggling to decide on items. I'll have it sorted by tomorrow though!

i'm so confused...I am a SAHM and just getting dressed in the morning is a chore, especially if we're not going anywhere. any advice?
I don't like sitting in my jammies until 10 minutes before my hubby gets home, but I think this challenge is more of a challenge because I don't have many clothes and its COLD here .

Jane, your list sounds so interesting -- can't wait to see how you put it all together :)

Mothertoall -- I'm sure Jane has great advice, but as the mom of two young kids myself I just had to respond when I read your comment. I soooo relate to what you are saying. I don't know how old your kids are (mine are 7 & 2) but the younger they are the harder it is, no question.

I think you can have a sort of wardrobe hierarchy -- clothes you stay home in & clothes you go out in, with the SAH clothes being a step up from PJ's but still comfy & practical. Find some REALLY comfortable jeans, some nice yoga pants and a few long sleeve shirts & cardigans that can be your hang around the house stuff. Make sure it's easily washable, too. The less schlumpy I dress while at home the better over all I feel. I then choose nicer clothes to go out in...adding to my multi functional wardrobe.

Don't know if that helps...like I said, I'm sure the ever stylish Jane has some great advice too -- and check out other blogs -- there's lots of us SAHM's out here :)

sahm - I look forward to it.
Mothertoall - I agree with everything Kayleigh has said.
My children are now 8, 11, 13 and 17 but for many years I had babies and toddlers. After my second was born I worked 2-3 days a week until they all went to school and now I work five days - two long ones (7 - 5) out of the house and 3 at home 9-3) during school hours.
When I work from home I never feel tempted to sit in PJs anymore ( I have done it in the past) because I feel so much better prepared for what the day throws at me if I am dressed.
Kayliegh ha smade some great suggestions. Start with a couple of pairs of jeans, some long t-shirts to layer and maybe a coupel of cardigans or a faux fur gilet. Add a couple of brightly coloured scarves which mix and match with the t-shirts, a pair of comfortable flats (boots or shoes) and it is almost as comfy as a pair of PJs and soo much warmer!
Please join us.

thanks for all the great advice. I suppose the bigger issue is not being able to find pants/ jeans that work with my short waistedness(is that a word?)
everything makes me look like my waist is up under my bust....and so I just don't even own a pair of jeans right now....
or even pants that fit for that matter...LOL

Hi mothertoall - How about trying long skirts. I find them as useful as jeans.

funny you would mention skirts.....other than a pair of yoga pants, thats what I've been wearing lately....but probably not the most flattering...LOL....its a long denim skirt that I think might be too long for my 5'4" frame.

Hi Jane! I'm sorry, I don't think I'm going to be able to do this this week ... I have a bunch of Christmas dos to go to, and I want to keep all my options open! I would like to do it at some stage soon, though, so will be sure to let you know and link to the challenge when I do.

Good luck!

I'm so excited! I am going to go plan all my outfits for work right now.

However, as we are in holiday party season, and I have a formal holiday event to go to this week (I have to wear a long gown), pretty please, Jane, may I be excused from having to include my formal oufit and accessories in this challenge? It's on Friday night.

I had already planned to include another holiday event (a dinner) in my challenge, but trying to fit a formal event into this is nearly impossible!

Thanks for excluding workout wear (I am also counting my backpack as part of my workout wear, as I only use it for transporting my lunch and clothes to work and back).

My co-workers are going to be shocked that I'll be wearing the same clothes to work all week, not to mention only 2-3 pairs of shoes!

Andrea - have a great week and I'm sure there will be another one.
Sheila - the challenge finishes at 5pm - the end of the working week so no problems although I owuld have allowed it anyway!

I'm a little late to the game but I want to try this too. I'm looking forward to the challenge.

I'll post my capsule to my blog later tonight.
